Koushik Aithal was initiated into classical music at an early age by his parents. As a young boy, he received formal training in Hindustani Classical Music under Shri Humayun Harlapur, laying a strong musical foundation.

While pursuing his graduate studies in Business Management, Koushik continued his musical training and was accepted as a disciple of Pandit Parameshwar Hegde, the foremost disciple of the late Padma Bhushan Pandit Basavaraj Rajguru and an eminent exponent of the Kirana and Gwalior Gharanas.

Under his guidance, Koushik refined his artistry in Khayal Gayaki and emerged as one of the promising vocalists of his generation.

Along with imbibing the rich musical traditions of his guru, Koushik has developed a distinctive style reflected in his renditions of Khayal, Bhajan, Marathi Abhang, and Natyageet.
